Really…it’s rad man!  This 80’s inspired kit is sure to take you back in time to the neon colors, rock n’ roll and being a little edgy.  I had a lot of fun with this special request kit.  Sweet as Steel is full of grunge, skulls, lollipops and tulle.

I have been out of action for a while but had a special request from my friend Twyla over at Sweet as Steel, hence the name of the kit.  She sells a ton of coll handmade creations on her Facebook Fan page.  Really, you have to check them out.   From headbands and ties to Halloween goodies, she does her best to outfit little boys and girls in some fabulous edgy goodies.

Today’s my day to hand out my freebie as part of the Digi Scrap Drive-In Facebook Hop.  I am so excited as this is my first time participating in a Facebook Hop.  It’s a lot of fun and it get you to see a lot of designers Fan pages that you may not have seen before.  I love the Fan pages because it’s a great place to see all the new releases and specials from some of your favorite designers.  I have “liked” pages from so many different designers.  It’s almost like having one giant forum when you participate in some of the fan discussions.

Anyway…on to the freebie.

Hi everyone!  This last week has been crazy.  I would have loved to be around more but it just wasn’t in the cards.  In fact the last week was pretty bad but all things considered I should be pretty grateful.  The trouble has been work and car related.  It seemed like anything that could go wrong did.  The topper was my car completely stopped working one day as I was on my way to work.  It’s currently in the shop but the news isn’t looking good.  There are many people that have much worse circumstances so I am trying to look for the good in all this.  I am extremely lucky that things worked out the way they did because my car could have stopped while I was in morning traffic on the freeway.  Instead it happened while I was barely moving and waiting to make a turn.  I was able to be out of traffic and also very close to work.  I was able to get a ride to my office and make all the necessary calls before getting back to the car to wait for the tow truck and a ride.

Well, enough of my pity party.  It’s time to move on.  Without a car I was able to spend quite a bit of time working on a new kit and a little freebie for my facebook fans.  Yes, there is a little freebie coming soon but you have to be a Fan on Facebook in order to get access to it.  What are you waiting for?  Head on over and you’ll see that freebie really soon.  In fact, most of the designers over at Digi Scraps Drive-In are participating so find them and become their fan too.  All the freebies will be color coordinated and you could have a nice little matching kit.

I hope you have enjoyed the 5 days of freebies.  I have really like to hear all of your wonderful comments.  It seems like you like this kit as much as I do. It’s been really fun creating the kit especially since it’s been inspired by my 7 year old’s favorite shirt.  She loved giving me some input and seeing the final project.  Now I just have to teach her how to do the actual design work and how to make her own layouts. LOL!

I am in need of a few layout artists to join my team!  I am very laid back.  While there are requirements to be on the team I am understanding that we all have other life commitments and need some flexibility.  Being on a creative team should be a fun experience and is a great way to get to know other people that enjoy digi scrapping as much as you.  Everyone is encouraged to apply.  I only have a few spots open but all applications will receive a response.

The countdown is on! In just 5 days I get to share my big news. As you may suspect, I am moving to a new store. Yeah! I am really excited about this move. I love everything I have seen at this new site including the forum, the challenges, the store, the designers, EVERYTHING! I have been busy getting everything repackaged and put through QC. I think everything is in place. Well, everything except the celebrating.

The celebration begins here on Friday April 1st. I promise that there will be goodies for you. But I can’t make you wait that long. To kick off the celebration I have the first of a few freebies.

What’s the first thing you need to start a beautiful layout? A sketch or plan of what your layout is going to look like. If you want to skip that step I created a set of templates based on a few of my favorite layouts. These include 12×12, 8.5×11 vertical and 8.5 horizontal templates in .psd, .tiff, and .png files.
